This is an unpublished invention of Maron. There are no publications that refer to this shorthand system and it appears to not be in use and may be even be a hoax. Ash (talk) 08:37, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: Doesn't appear to be a hoax. I get some Google hits for Método Maron, and a couple of those look like they might be legit shorthand associations. The guy who seems to be promoting this on the Internet does get some Google Scholar hits. We really need a Portuguese speaker to look at this; any useful sources will be in Portuguese, and they'll probably be offline.--Chris Johnson (talk) 09:35, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Searched for "Método Maron" and a few variations on Google Books and WorldCat but there seem to be no obvious publications such as dictionaries or guides for teaching this as a shorthand system in Portuguese. I would have thought that if this were a notable system then there should be a teaching course available published with an ISBN; compare with the list of other systems in Shorthand.—Ash (talk) 11:27, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- It looks like the initial publication of Maron's "Tratado de Tachygraphia" was in 1932. Not sure what happened after that. The system could have been referred to by a different name in Maron's lifetime, or maybe it languished in obscurity until this Waldir Curry rediscovered and popularized it. I hope the article creator stops by this discussion to help us sort it out.--Chris Johnson (talk) 01:01, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete. Not notable, and could not find sufficient third-party sources that mention this subject. The 'shorthandworld' ref cited is mostly about the newspaper and only mentions it in passing, and the other ref looks like a primary source. I'm guessing this is another one of many shorthand systems invented over the years that haven't received widespread usage and probably shouldn't have its own article. But possibly worth a mention in List of shorthand systems with a cite to [1] verifying its existence. -- Ϫ 03:29, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
